The Escondido Humane Society’s Paws in the Park dog walk is sure to be a howling good time for people and their canine companions. The annual dog walk, which will raise funding and awareness for homeless and abandoned animals, is from 8 a.m. to noon March 30 at Kit Carson Park, 3333 Bear Valley Parkway in Escondido. Post-walk festivities include a Paw vendor expo, games, contests, entertainment and more. Walkers can register online at www.escondidohumanesociety.org. The works in this show illuminate this notion and portray beaches as sites of social and cultural interaction. They also explore the presence of conflict in paradise. The innocent sounding term “On the Beach” is the title of a post-apocalyptic science fiction novel by Nevil Shute and the name of one of Neil Young’s bleakest albums. 11 AM – 5 PM daily.
