Completely wheelchair accessible, the beautiful trail is a nice way to see Mission Valley’s flora and fauna! The ample benches and picnic tables come in handy for restful stops and picnics along the way. Many even take the trail from western mission valley to the Mission Valley Library and the stores and restaurants in the mall there.
Mission Valley YMCA
This YMCA has classes that seniors would especially enjoy, including water aerobics. The indoor Pratt Pool offers a Hydro Healing class to enhance joint mobility for chronic conditions on Monday, Thursday and Friday at 10:50-11:35, as well as an Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program (AFAP) specifically for those afflicted with arthritis issues, Monday through Friday from 10-10:45 am. In addition, there are always special outings, yoga classes, and more. The Mission Valley YMCA is located at 5505 Friars Road.
Mission Valley Library
Not only is this a beautiful facility, but it has ample books, a lovely patio area, an upstairs outdoor viewing area, and even an outdoor fountain. Plus, the librarians keep guest speakers, knitting classes, and even yoga sessions specifically for seniors on the calendar. If your senior needs a relaxing change of pace, this could be the spot.
