Because agencies providing non-medical home care aide services are not required by the State to be licensed, the California Association for Health Services at Home has introduced our Home Care Aide Organization Certification Program.
CAHSAH’s Home Care Aide Organization Certification Program allows home care aide organizations to submit evidence that they meet CAHSAHS’s Standards for Home Care Aide Organizations:
- General and professional liability insurance ($1million/3million)
- Workers’ compensation insurance
- Pre-employment background clearance
- Crime/Employee dishonesty bone ($10,000)
- Pre-employment tuberculosis screening
- Written client agreement including how fees are specified.
Of over 400 agencies in San Diego County only 34 are CAHSAH certified.
