Dr. Robert Angelo, a prestigious Shakespearean scholar is hired to take over as head of the Sojourner Truth University Drama Department, located in an unidentified city. Opening a window to San Diego’s past, our Gaslamp Quarter Historical walking tour showcases the history of the William Heath Davis House built in 1850, as well as the history of the of the historic Gaslamp Quarter.
The tour includes architecturally significant structures of the period from Old City Hall (1874) to the Romanesque style Keating Building (1890) to the Baroque Revival Louis Bank of Commerce (1888), along with fascinating stories of the people and characters that shaped the destiny of San Diego. 5) Scripps on Prospect: Cultural Legacy –

On view in the Joan and Irwin Jacobs Gallery, Scripps On Prospect: Cultural Legacy explores how the philanthropic spirit of Ellen and Virginia Scripps contributed to La Jolla’s social and cultural development, focusing on the history of the cultural zone along Prospect Street and Silverado. The exhibition represents part two of a collaboration between MCASD and the La Jolla Historical Society while the latter undergoes an ambitious rehabilitation project.
