In 1982, Dr. George G. Glenner and Joy Glenner created the nation’s first adult day care program specifically for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease. Now, with another “first of its kind,” the Glenner Centers proudly introduces TOWN SQUARE!
TOWN SQUARE is a one-of-a-kind experience featuring a unique, indoor, interactive, stimulating urban environment utilizing Reminiscence Therapy. Reminiscence Therapy provides benefit to those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia by surrounding them with tangible prompts from their past.

KEY FEATURES:
- Is designed to replicate a 1950s/1960s city in order to facilitate reminiscence and bring participants back to a time where their memories are the strongest.
- Will incorporate a rotational recreational program that will guide participants through “neighborhoods” featuring vintage storefronts to trigger past memories.
- Offers a highly structured, safe and fulfilling experience while maintaining the Glenner hallmark of a 5:1 participant-to-program aide ratio and a Registered Nurse.
- Provides caregiver support groups and specialized resources to family caregivers.
